Will You Say Yes?
Below you can listen to the post via audio, read by Kay Naomi.
This past weekend, while on my daily walk around my neighborhood, I had an encounter with the Lord. I usually have my AirPods in when I walk but this time I didn’t. I couldn’t recall where I had placed them and the sun would be setting soon. I chose not to waste time looking for them and went outside with naked ears.
As I enjoyed the sounds of nature, I heard God say this: “I am coming for ALL of your trust.” He then highlighted a specific area in my life where I have struggled to trust Him. He was coming for that! He wanted me to surrender this part of my life to Him and trust Him to lead me and guide me. He was coming for my “yes.” After completing the walk, I pondered this conversation. Honestly, I was conflicted. What if I have to do something I really don’t want to do? What is this going to look like? Did I really hear You?
I sat in silence but my mind was going one hundred miles a minute. God was coming for that one thing I hadn’t fully surrendered to Him and I was afraid. After several minutes elapsed, I was reminded of a song called “Yes,” by Shekinah Glory. The premise of the song is that God is asking for our full yes, our total surrender to Him. Here are some of the lyrics:
“Now will your heart and soul say yes?
Will your Spirit still say yes, yes?
If I told you what I really need
Will your heart and soul say yes?”
As the song continues, the soloist sings:
“But this time I've made up in my mind
I've made up in my mind
I'll say, say, say yes”
I listened to it. I cried. I said yes, wholeheartedly. I linked the song below so you can listen to it should choose to.
I shared the nuances of my emotions and feelings in response to God’s request of me because I believe we have all had difficulty giving specific things over to God, fully. We may not even be aware that we have been withholding that area from Him. Maybe we are! Whatever the case may be, may our resolve be to say “yes.” Why? Because God is who He says He is. He is trustworthy. He is faithful. He is with us. He is for us. His character and His nature remind us that He is deserving of our full surrender. Our life is safe in His hands.
Giving God our total surrender is a place of safety. The emotions and feelings that arise are indicators that we need to explore the root of why we feel this way. It is an invitation for God to bring restoration and healing to our hearts.
This, dear one, is the work of purpose. It is not about what we do, but what we allow God to do in us. We need boldness and courage to say “yes” to God in this way. This is what partnership with God looks like. This opens the door for us to experience aspects of His character He has been wanting to reveal. And from this place, He can fulfill His purposes through us.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the invitation to partner with you in this life. Search my heart and reveal any areas I have not given to you fully. Give me the courage to fully surrender my life to you, withholding nothing. You are worthy of it all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Until Next Time,
